It’s definitely -10 F windchill outside. And the heater in our room is definitely smelling like a severely burned hair dryer and making sounds of death. If we are the cause of the fire alarm going off tonight, I’m going to cry.

Today I participated in a photography workshop at the Gail Borden Library with ex-Chicago Tribune photographer John Dziekan. During the day, I met and photographed the man pictured above. He teaches Native American studies at a university near here, and is from the Chippewa tribe.
